‘Look, I don’t like this any more than you do, but this is the only way to the chamber.’
It’s been quite a while since the last post, but there’s still one map in this decade. I’ve continued experimenting with fully digital process and the end result is not too bad!
Deep in an ancient mine, there is a mostly standing bridge where the magical lighting still works. Is the damage only due to time or is there something lurking in the water? Any residue from the ley crystals surely has no effect on the local fauna…
Even in the remote tunnels of their mines, the Oakheart clan meticulously builds a dense network outposts and checkpoints. Each hosts a small group of guards keeping track of everyone who passes by and making sure no-one is allowed through without proper documentation. While some consider this kind of arrangement wasteful, Oakheart’s ore losses are record low.
The ground took a bit of thinking, but in the end, I’m quite happy with how this turned out. Although my lettering skills still need some more practice.
There is also a tip-jar at ko-fi. Check it out! All contributions will be greatly appreciated !
This one took a really long time to finish. It is a small crypt that has a few sarcophagi and a number of smaller urns and offerings scattered along the walls. It could be housing the deceased of a holy order or just be a generic resting place for local nobles and other well to do. Some of the rooms were still under construction when the crypt was abandoned. You’ll note that one of the small rooms is sealed off. Feel free to put whatever undead monster there. However, the seal has started weakening and necromantic powers should be animating some nasty surprises – zombies/skeletons, spirits or even just maddened beasts.
Here’s a map that spawned from a small scribble. I tried ‘8-bit rpg’ perspective and I thought it turned out ok. Some parts are a bit funky, but I do hope you like it! This is also the 50th map on this blog! It’s nice to hit such a milestone.
It took a while to post another map. This one’s a generic dungeon that serves as someone’s (wizard/ruler/bandit lord/etc) tomb. The trick however, is that the actual body is hidden in a secret chamber. Continue reading “Map #49 – Generic dungeon”
I was in a mood for another scifi map. I’m not sure about all of the details, but some parts I think are quite ok.
This is another secret underground lab. There’s a tram system connecting it to other parts of the compounds. This lab works on combining various alien specimens to ‘volunteers’ for whatever villainous purpose you’d like.
There’s a room with animal pens, a biolab with various plants, a general lab with a treatment room and a larger room with individual tanks for combining extracted materials. There are also a few cells to hold prisoners as well as monitoring room and a small break room. An elevator leads to the surface.
